My Spiritual Growth

My faith influences how I learn, serve, work, and make decisions. It gives me direction during uncertainty, strengthens me through challenges, and reminds me to use my abilities for a greater purpose.

These three guiding principles help me grow as a disciple, husband, father, student, and software developer.

Three Guiding Principles

These principles shape the way I approach my spiritual, personal, and professional development.

Seek the Lord First

I believe that meaningful success begins with seeking the Lord's guidance. Prayer, scripture study, and faith help me find peace during uncertainty and strength during difficult experiences.

I have learned that I do not need to face every responsibility through my own strength. When I place God first, I receive greater clarity, patience, and confidence in the decisions I make for my family, education, service, and career.

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness.”

Professional Application

As a software engineer, I seek the Lord's guidance when facing difficult problems, important decisions, or unexpected challenges. Rather than becoming discouraged when debugging or learning new technologies, I try to approach each challenge with faith, patience, and trust that consistent effort and God's guidance will help me improve.

Learn with Diligence

I believe that learning is a lifelong responsibility. Transitioning from exercise science and fitness into software engineering required humility, patience, and consistent effort.

Challenges have helped me recognize my weaknesses, develop my talents, and trust the learning process. I want to continue gaining knowledge through both study and faith while using what I learn to become more capable of serving others.

Professional Application

Transitioning from exercise science to software engineering has taught me that lifelong learning is essential. Whether I am studying React, Spring Boot, databases, or cloud technologies, I strive to develop both technical knowledge and character. My faith motivates me to continue learning so I can better serve others through my profession.

Serve Others Through My Talents

I believe that talents become more meaningful when they are used to bless other people. Service gives purpose to the skills and knowledge I continue developing.

Whether I am building software, helping a teammate, supporting my family, or fulfilling a Church responsibility, I want my efforts to make life better for those around me. My goal is to create technology that solves meaningful problems and serves real human needs.

“When ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God.”

Mosiah 2:17

Professional Application

I want to build technology that makes a meaningful difference in people's lives. Projects such as my Patient Risk Dashboard and other software applications remind me that programming is not just about writing code—it is about creating solutions that improve the lives of real people while acting with integrity, compassion, and responsibility.

Recognizing the Lord's Help

Spiritual growth often happens through ordinary responsibilities and quiet experiences.

Some of my greatest spiritual growth has occurred during moments when I felt inadequate. Church responsibilities have sometimes required me to organize meetings, communicate with members, and serve others while balancing work, school, and family.

Although I often wondered how I would have enough time or ability, I repeatedly felt peace as I tried to magnify my calling. Looking back, I can recognize that the Lord provided help during those demanding moments.

These experiences have taught me that God's help is often present in small and consistent ways. Sometimes blessings can become easy to overlook because they happen so regularly. Spiritual growth requires me to slow down, recognize His hand, and express gratitude for what I have now.

Throughout this course, several scriptures and teachings from modern prophets have strengthened my testimony and influenced how I approach both my personal life and my future career in software engineering.

Moving Forward with Faith

Spiritual growth is not a destination. It is a continuing commitment.

As I continue developing as a software engineer, I want to become more than a person with technical knowledge. I want to become a better disciple, husband, father, teammate, and leader.

My goal is to combine faith, learning, diligence, and service so that my work can have a positive and lasting influence. I believe that professional excellence becomes more meaningful when it is guided by integrity, compassion, and a desire to bless others.

I know I will continue facing uncertainty and challenges. However, I also know that the Lord can guide me as I make room to listen, act with faith, and recognize the blessings already present in my life.

Faith gives purpose to my learning.
Learning prepares me to serve.
Service helps me become more like Christ.
